This step of the cycle is where you find who could enter the Major Partner Cycle. Start by brainstorming names of people you know, then move onto to people you may have never met yet.

WELCOME
TEAMGOLD
INSTITUTE
GETTING STARTED
Since 2014, TeamGold has provided local teams and field staff with world-class training in fund development and partner engagement. Now, the TeamGold Institute has been created to provide that same quality of training at an even higher level intended for full-time Development professionals.
Whether you are entering your first year as a Development Pro or you’re a seasoned veteran, the TeamGold Institute will prove to be an invaluable resource.
WHAT IS THE TEAMGOLD INSTITUTE
Over the decades, the various ministries of Cru have tried to create training curriculum for their Development staff. This has been challenging because each ministry has slightly different training needs, and each department has a wide variety of roles and responsibilities that must be addressed.
The TeamGold Institute is Cru’s universal training for all Fund Development staff around the world. It provides a common pool of understanding for all Development Pros, no matter their ministry or role. All staff are required to complete the Development Core Training upon reporting to their role. This core training is intended to take roughly 75 hours to complete within the first 30 days in the role.
In addition to the core training, each ministry has the ability to develop their own supplemental curriculum for their staff to complete. This will ensure that ever new Development Pro receives not only a general, universal understanding of fund development, but also the tools and skills required in their specific ministry & role.

WHO WILL OVERSEE MY TRAINING?
Your direct supervisor is the person primarily responsible for making sure that you have completed this program upon reporting to your role. As such, they will be added through Google Classrooms as what is called a ‘guardian’ in the system, which will give your supervisor a weekly email summary of your progress. Additionally, each ministry will choose a training instructor to be set as the facilitator for the Google Classroom. This is the person who will receive all submitted coursework and, ultimately, confirm that all staff within their ministry have adequately completed the course.
Other than that, your progress is largely left up to you. We know that some of you will not be full-time Development professionals or perhaps you may just prefer to work through the material more slowly. No one from TeamGold will be overseeing your progress or checking to make sure you’ve completed anything.
HOW DO I BEGIN?
The first step is to fill out the TGI Core Training Request Form to let us know you’ll be enrolling in the course. Once we receive your request and confirm with your Fund Development team, we’ll send you everything you need to get rolling. We suggest you fill out this form as far in advance as possible, preferably at least 4 weeks prior to the start of your training.
Then, you’ll be given access to the Core Training section of TeamGold, a master checklist, and all related documents to begin the core training.
